Plan Review Unit

The Plan Review Unit accepts structural architectural, electrical and mechanical plans as well as fire alarm system plans at 560 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI 02886. This office is staffed by fire code and/or alarm inspectors / plans reviewers, who are available to conduct initial reviews of your plans to determine the adequacy of the plans before they are submitted for formal review. If the plans submitted are complete and satisfactory, they will be accepted and assigned to an inspector / plans reviewer for formal review. If the plans submitted are deficient and found to be unsatisfactory, they will be immediately returned to the submitter, at which time they will also receive a checklist indicating why the plans were not accepted for formal review.

Note: It is highly recommended that you call ahead and schedule an appointment to submit the plan review documents so that a plans reviewer can conduct a quick review of the documents to ensure all of the required information is submitted. Fees

A plan review fee will be charged for all fire alarm system plans that are submitted separately rather than as part of a larger set of plans. For example, if a new building is being constructed and fire alarm plans are submitted along with structural architectural, electrical and mechanical plans, then a single plan review fee shall be assessed for the entire project. However, if the work is limited to fire alarm system plans only and not part of the larger set of plans, then a plan review fee will be assessed with the submittal of the fire alarm system plans. The general contractor or building owner are responsible for paying the fees. Accepted forms of payment can be found in the payment policy.
