Fire Fighter Level I
The Basic Firefighter I course is where students learn the cognitive and practical training they need to operate safely and effectively on the fireground. This is entry-level firefighting training. In addition to the basic skills that are taught, firefighters are taught how to manage the inherent stress of the firefighter profession with lessons on healthy lifestyles and stress management.
Schedule:
Mondays and Wednesdays
6:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Saturdays
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Prerequisites:
- At least 18 years of age
- Posses a high school diploma or GED
- RI fire service member
- RIFA Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form
- Complete FEMA Incident Command levels 100, 200 & 700 at https://training.fema.gov/nims
- Complete RI Energy Gas & Electrical Emergency training at https://firstresponder.ngridsafety.com
