NFPA 1001 Firefighter I

The NFPA Firefighter I course is the entry-level course where students learn the cognitive (lectures) and practical (hands-on) training they need to be safe and effective on the fire ground. In addition to the basic skills that are learned, firefighters are taught how to manage the inherent stress of the firefighter profession with lessons on healthy lifestyles and stress management. 

 

Prerequisites:

  • at least 18 years of age

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED

  • Be a Rhode Island fire service member – paid or volunteer
  • Obtain, fill out and SIGN:
    • RIFA Registration Form
    • RIFA Waiver Form
  • BEFORE CLASS BEGINS:
