NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Operations - FULL
This program provides students with extensive time on rope, giving skills and confidence needed to handle basic rope rescues and slope evacuations. This 5-day program includes 4 days of instruction and one day of written & skill evaluation. Topic areas include: site operations, size-up, resource management, hazard/risk assessment, ground support for helicopter ops, triage, incident mangement, rope construction, knots, harnesses, hardware, anchoring methods, belay systems, mechanical advantage & pickoffs as addressed in NFPA 1006.
Prerequisites:
- RIFA accident waiver
- Firefighter 2
- Current EMT or EMR license
- rescue style helmet (fire helmet ok)
- work boots or ankle supporting shoes
- clean, leather palm gloves
