The NFPA Hazardous Materials Technician course is the next level of handling hazardous materials incidents. This course covers topics on classifying, identifying, and verifying spills and leaks by using field survey instruments and equipment; choosing the proper protective to protect the firefighter for the hazardous faced; understanding hazard and risk assessment techniques for Hazmat and CBRNE environments; and to be able to perform advanced control, containment, and/or confinement operations. Skills are reinforced to successfully mitigate this type of emergency frequently faced by today’s firefighters. The program contains both lectures and hands-on skills training.

Certification in Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials Operations
